Mercedes-Benz F 015: Luxury in Motion
Just one glance at the Mercedes F 015 will tell you that there’s nothing on the road like it today. This autonomous car has been described as Luxury in Motion, and much of the Mercedes staff has been devoted to perfecting its features and concept. The car is so futuristic, it’s difficult to determine which end is the front and which is the back. The design is a curved hood throughout the length of the car, and the whole thing looks like flowing liquid silver.
A PRIVATE RETREAT
This car will definitely get you around town safely. Its body strength to withstand crashes and safety features to prevent them are second to none. The autonomous driving design means you don’t have to worry about designating a driver at any time of day (not just on a Friday night out.) While Mercedes recognizes the benefit of the sheer technology behind autonomous vehicles, the leaders of the company are adamant that its real value will come from giving everyone a place to relax, work, or even play while on the go. It has seating on the inside that looks similar to that of a classy restaurant lounge, with four chairs turned inward toward a center console. Rotating chairs can face forward or backward depending on the configuration the owner is looking for. It can turn the commute into a place to get things done rather than just wasted time spent in traffic.
The Mercedes F 015 has been engineered to reflect luxury, yet still retain the character that will appeal to the emotional side of the people inside. With 6 displays that are mounted at the instrument panel and on the rear and side walls, you’ll remain connected to the vehicle and the outside world alike. Riders can touch or make gestures to the screen to control things like climate and destination. The amount and rate of the information that can be shared is truly incredible, and turns the car into a place that people can go to escape if they live in a large city that doesn’t offer a lot of privacy. If space will become one of the scarcest commodities in the future, then the Mercedes F 015 will definitely put the riders at a distinct advantage.
The car is meant to look like it flows, both on the outside and inside. The organic materials contrast warm and cool colors and textures for an inviting atmosphere. The nappa leather is made in ice-white with blue accents, and the floor is made from light walnut wood. Mercedes used matrix graphics to achieve many of the details on the interior, and the use of metal and glass give the car a futuristic vibe. Features an F-Cell plug-in hybrid system that can go for up to an astonishing 683 miles, with the majority of those miles being powered by the fuel cell.
